What 3 blinks means
Three repeating red blinks mean lockout: the system shut down after too many failed ignition tries or an abnormal flame reading. Both gas valves are closed and it ignores on commands until reset.
Also shown as: 3 red blinks, depending on the model.
Likely causes
- Gas supply off or low
- Empty propane tank
- Cold vent on startup
- Pilot or flame sensing problem
Safe first checks
- Make sure the gas supply to the fireplace is on and, for propane, the tank isn't empty.
- Reset once: turn the fireplace off with the remote (or receiver switch), wait at least 2 seconds, and turn it back on.
When to stop
If it locks out again, stop resetting. SIT says the cause of a lockout should be investigated before normal use. If you smell gas, leave and call your gas supplier from outside.
Checked against: SIT Group, Proflame 2 IFC control board use and installation instructions (9.957.103): lockout and red LED codes. Codes can differ by model and year, so confirm with your owner's manual.
