What HFL means
Heater flow is reduced: there may not be enough flow through the heater. Heater start-up tries again after about 1 minute.
Also shown as: M016, depending on the model.
Likely causes
- Low water level
- Dirty filter
- Closed valves or too many closed jets
- Air trapped after a refill
Safe first checks
- Top up the water to the fill line.
- Turn the spa off at its GFCI/breaker, take out the filter and clean it, then restart.
- Open all jets and valves, and prime the pumps if you just refilled.
When to stop
If HFL stays with a clean filter and full water, call for service.
